Ryan A. Lee - American Artist

I’m part of the Western U.S. and the people who occupy it. And we all have stories. My Art is a surreal time stamp of the “going ons” in this “New West”.  I create a clash of the Modern and Old Wests warring.

I work on several pieces at once. My paintings are never done in a sitting or in a specific time frame. All of my art is shuffled through, put away, painted over, pulled out, thrown at the wall and thought on…until eventually an art piece is created.

Giving back is always a huge help! Each painting I sell I donate 1% to the Children of Pueblo.

A semi dream has come true for RAL. He was accepted to the "Young Guns" club auction which can possibly be a precursor to making the main show in years to come. RAL was selected with 8 other applicants out of a total of over 400. He is extremely honored and excited.

"I saw that painting and I burst out laughing,” recalled Taylor. “I got what he was getting at, and I appreciated his ability to work on that level of humor but at the same time dealing with some pretty heavy topics.” - Jeff Taylor , Gallery Director

RAL work turns Cowboy clichés on their head, addressing deeply profound histories of the region with irreverent humor and disrupted conventions.

"RAL has been causing a stir in the Denver art scene. His piece "Fashionable Late" was removed from the 2017 Coors Western Art Show due to different controversial interpretations of it."

RAL worked with an exceptional door maker to provide original doors to any home, office, barn or commercial structure. Patrick Werner hand crafts each set of doors from scratch. He often uses refurbished wood from previous structures such as old barns or hay lofts. When complete, I paint an original creation on the door.
